I’m back….I think!!!

After a loooong hiatus from blogging I am slowly going to be coming back.  Why you ask?  Well, I recently moved to San Antonio, TX and after spending all day on the phone I decided it was time to start blogging about my adventures in Texas and the trip to Texas over the last 3 months…some good, some not so good!!

What a long strange trip it’s been…holy cow, moses, or shit, whichever you want to pick.

Stay tuned!!!!index

Blowout loss leaves Huskers shell-shocked – College Football Nation Blog – ESPN

I am from Lincoln, Nebraska, I have always been a Husker Fan, but did you guy’s even show up for the game?…..sadly I stopped watching right before half time, I knew this game wasn’t going anywhere when Wisconsin scored 2 touchdowns in less than 4 mins…BIG disappointment.

If shopping needed a national holiday, today would be it. But, as much as I love shopping (and I really do), Black Friday generally does not find me braving the crowds at a gargantuan superstore hoping to nab a discount before being trampled by other shoppers.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I’m Thankful for……

Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.
In each of our days,
we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time
paying attention to problems.
We give our energy
to those who cause us trouble
instead of those who bring peace.
Starting now,
let’s be on the lookout
for the bits of pleasure in each hour,
and appreciate the people who
bring love and light to everyone
who is blessed to know them.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Guilty Pleasure

THE PLEASURE PART:   So last night after the Hubs and I spent the whole day unpacking boxes and putting stuff a way from our move, we decided we would take a break and go to dinner.  There are so many places in our area now that offer great food, but we decided to go to Red Robin…now if you’ve never been to a Red Robin you are really missing out, they have awesome food and generally awesome service.  We started out with an appetizer, the best onion rings I’ve ever had and deep fried mushrooms….I was almost full after eating just that, but we didn’t stop there, Hubs ordered a huge hamburger and steak fries and I ordered a salad.  It was called Avo-Cobb-O Salad, it was huge. Now this salad comes with deviled eggs, black olives, cheese, avocado (of course), bacon, tomatoes and the ever dreaded crumpled blue cheese….I HATE BLUE CHEESE…there are just no words that I can possible convey here that would make BLUE CHEESE a favorite of mine, it’s in the same category as raisins (that’s a whole other post), so I asked our very sweet waitress if she could tell them PLEASE leave off the blue cheese and she said “Oh sure, that’s not a problem”,  she wrote it down on her pad ….”NO BLUE CHEESE”.

We waited for quite a while after out appetizer to get our food, but finally it came…I go to pour my dressing on my salad and 1/6th of my salad is covered in BLUE CHEESE….Oh No!!!  As I was neatly and carefully removing every little crumb of that icky stuff our sweet waitress comes over and asks if everything is ok and notices I am removing this POO CHEESE from my salad and immediately said she would have them make another one, I assured her that wasn’t necessary as I was really hungry after waiting a while for the salad. I told her that I would just scrape it off and eat it as is.

THE GUILTY PART:  I’m enjoying what’s remaining of my salad and the Manager comes over with our ticket…NO CHARGE!  He had comped the whole meal. I was just shocked that they would do that.  As I’m still enjoying my salad I thought to myself, this is not right, we had no cash on us and could only pay with a credit card which meant there was no way our sweet waitress was getting her tip.  After all, it wasn’t HER fault, she shouldn’t be punished, she did her job.  I called her over to the table and told her that I did not want to accept this comped meal and she kept saying…”No, no it’s OK really”,  and I explained to her that it wasn’t OK because since we had no cash on us she wouldn’t get a tip now, she was totally fine with that.

Well “TRISTA” that’s NOT OK with me, the next time the Hubs and I are in there, which will be sooner than later, you are going to get double tipped. You were so sweet and kind about the whole ordeal.  And I found it quite comforting to know that you felt the same way about POO CHEESE..lol  Next time we come in we will definitely sit in your area…Thank you for everything and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for people like you..

Off We Go…

Just want to let all my fans know (which is 0 at the moment lol) that we are moving to a new house this weekend, so my posting time is very limited unfortunately.  I still have some packing to do and so forth.

I’ve almost convinced myself that I’m a aspiring hoarder, not really, but when I go through things, it’s like why do I keep this stuff, it just blows my mind.  So for this move I have literally gotten rid of a ton of stuff, actually donated it to the Disabled Vets.  My problem is when I’m out at flea markets or garage sales I look at something and go…”I can use this”, and then I never do, so I’m pretty much done with that.  Unless I find something I just can’t live without and can find a legitimate reason for it’s use, but from here on out it has to be something really special that I just absolutely can’t live without, not even sure at this point if there is such an item…

I’ve pretty much decided that my next move is going to be in with my kids (oh dear) or a nursing home, I so dislike moving.  It’s not that I have to do the actual moving, but I have to sort things out, then pack it all and when I say “all” I mean just that, for some reason I seem to be the only one that knows how to pack a box.

I’m actually pretty good at packing boxes though, we moved a lot when I was a kid, seems like my Mom moved every time the house got dirty.  Personally I’d rather stay in one place and clean as opposed to moving.  I think, however, moving is harder on my dogs than it is on me, I don’t have to sniff around the yard for an hour to find a potty spot that’s all mine.  They will be very clingy for a few days, but they already are sort of, they follow me everywhere.  My favorite time of the day is Doggy Nap Time, for two hours in the afternoon I am totally left alone, of course I don’t dare move out of my chair because one of them takes her nap beside me in the chair, but that’s ok, I’m thinking that’s going to be good blogging time.

Of course when I find out I’m moving I look for the closest coffee shops in the area, oh and Chinese Food places, my two vices, I’m in luck, there are several in the area I’m moving to, I’m so excited.

So, I will try and get back to blogging as soon as I can and of course if I find some time before the move I will post.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day.
